The Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, the hotel company's first property on the Indian subcontinent, opened Monday.
The 202-room hotel is located in Mumbai's Worli district and features views of the city skyline, Mahalaxmi Racecourse or the Arabian Sea via floor-to-ceiling windows.
The property offers two restaurants: San Qi (meaning "three energies") features Japanese, Wok and Tandoor cuisine, while Prato serves Italian cuisine.
Business facilities at the hotel include 1,600 square feet of meetings and functions space; a 24-hour business center; a fleet of 20 BMW 7-series limousines; and a club-level floor.
A spa, set to open later this year, will offer traditional Ayurvedic therapies and western treatments. The facility will feature eight treatment rooms; wet areas; a "Chi Studio" for yoga, meditation and aerobic activities; a pool; a fitness center; and a Rossano Ferretti salon.
"It's a real privilege to be planting the Four Seasons flag in India," said general manager Armando Kraenzlin in a statement. "Mumbai is a big opening for the group and the hotel is in an exciting part of town. It sets new standards in the city for luxury and service and is sure to challenge many Western preconceptions of what India has to offer."
