The 120-room Grand Hotel Punta del Este officially opened its doors this month on Uruguay's coastline.
The newest addition to
Punta del Este, the Grand Hotel is the first major
luxury property built in that resort city (known as South America's Riviera) since the Conrad opened in 1997.
Situated on Brava Beach,
close to downtown, the 120-room property was built in an all-glass
triangular shape, which was designed to be evocative of an ocean liner heading
out to sea. Its soft opening was in September.
Most hotel rooms offer
ocean views, while amenities include heated outdoor and indoor
swimming pools, a spa, theater,
Roman baths, beauty salon, complimentary Wi-Fi, babysitting, hotel transfers,
beachfront service and concierge service to assist with booking excursions.
