Hilton Hotels has once again teamed up
with Discovery Kids, an educational network affiliated with the
Discovery Channel, for a summertime vacation package aimed at
children, and of course, their families.
Hilton and
Discovery Kids first forged a partnership last summer that resulted
in a popular vacation package that enabled kids to share images of
their vacations with others at DiscoveryKids.com. Families that
booked the package also were entered into a sweepstakes for a
seven-night vacation at one of eight hotels.
This year, Hilton
and Discovery Kids have introduced several enhancements to the
package.
For instance,
younger guests will be welcomed at check-in by "Discovery Kids
Journey Ambassadors," of Hilton staff who have been specially
trained to help children.
Children ages 5
through 12 once again will receive a Hilton Discovery Kids Pack, a
backpack filled with a variety of items such as a card holder for
collectible DK trading cards, a magnetic refrigerator picture
frame, two temporary tattoos and entry forms for the Travel Should
Spark Discovery sweepstakes and the Click Into Summer photo
promotion.
This year, a
digital camera with video capabilities has been added.
Kids also have
access to a complimentary DVD lending library featuring popular DK
programs, such as "Kenny the Shark," "Tutenstein" and "Flight 29
Down."
Additionally,
select resort properties across the U.S. will offer expanded DK
programs, which include "Powered by Discovery Kids" activity camps
featuring Discovery-themed activities for the younger set and a
special reception for families with games.
After their Hilton
stay, kids can also share vacation experiences by sending photos or
video clips via the Click Into Summer promotion at www.discoverykids.com/hilton. Videos could be selected
to air on the Discovery Kids Channel and at
DiscoveryKids.com.
Also, families who
book the Hilton Discovery package can enter the Travel Should Spark
Discovery sweepstakes at DiscoveryKids.com/hilton for a chance to
win a six-night vacation at one of six hotels.
"We know that
summer vacations are an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy
time together discovering new experiences, with fun for parents and
kids alike," said Jeff Diskin, senior vice president, brand
management-Hilton Hotels, in a statement. "Our continued
relationship with Discovery Kids helps us provide educational and
adventure-filled travel experiences that fuel the evolving
curiosities and interests of our younger guests."
