Hilton has linked up with outdoor hospitality brand AutoCamp, announcing plans to make AutoCamp's Airstream, luxury tent and other accommodations bookable via Hilton's direct channels in the coming months.
Hilton Honors members will be able to earn and redeem points at AutoCamp properties.
Launched in 2013, AutoCamp has focused on national parks and other areas with outdoors recreation, expanding into Yosemite, Joshua Tree and Russian River in California; Zion, Utah; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and the Catskills in New York. This summer, the AutoCamp plans to open outposts in Asheville, North Carolina, and Sequoia, California. Next year, an AutoCamp is slated to open in Hill Country, Texas.
Though the brand offers tents, cabins and other accommodation types, AutoCamp is best known for its custom-designed Airstream suites, which have sleeping and living areas, a bathroom, a kitchenette and an outdoor dining area and firepit.
Each AutoCamp site is anchored by The Clubhouse, a social hub with a food-and-beverage concept called The Kitchen as well as a boutique grab-and-go and retail market. The properties offer other common areas and amenities, including communal fire pits, trails, meeting space and swimming pools at select locations.
According to Hilton, the AutoCamp partnership is reflective of heightened demand for outdoor leisure time, with this year's Hilton Trends Report survey indicating that more than half of Gen Z and Millennial consumers are setting aside a bigger budget for exploration and adventure travel in 2024.The move also comes as national parks and other nature-focused markets see an influx of new lodging entrants, with brands like Outbound Hotels, Loge Camps and Field & Stream Lodge Co. recently jumping into the space.
Likewise, AutoCamp aims to expand its reach with Field Station, a conversion-focused sister brand that debuted last year in Moab, Utah.
