The Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa in Honolulu is now home to a new wedding facility, the Ocean Crystal Chapel. Billed as the first freestanding resort wedding chapel in Waikiki, the facility is now open for business.
The $6 million chapel is the result of a 2005 deal through which Hilton entered into a long-term lease with Best Bridal Hawaii, the Honolulu-based wedding company that will operate the chapel facility.
Construction was completed this January, and the first mock-wedding ceremony took place this spring.
Best Bridal Hawaii, a consolidated subsidiary of nuptials specialty company Best Bridal Group in Japan, handles all booking arrangements and coordination of on-site weddings, taking charge of everything from assisting with wedding gowns and tuxedos to hiring musicians and photographers.
Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa handles all food and beverage arrangements.
"We are very proud to have this opportunity to be affiliated with Hilton and to establish this one-of-a-kind wedding chapel in such a world-class, beachfront resort setting like Hilton Hawaiian Village," said Karen Mukai, vice president of Best Bridal Hawaii.
"We look forward to bringing a new dimension of weddings to Hawaii, not only from Japan but from the mainland U.S., the local community and other international wedding markets."
