The Hotel Imperial in Vienna, a property in Starwood's Luxury Collection, completed a $14 million renovation that updated the 151-year-old property while recalling the city’s storied history.
The 138-room hotel, which underwent a one-year restoration, includes entryway touches such as an updated “Composers Entrance” and a “Path to History” area that’s lined with archival photographs.
The hotel, located on Vienna’s Ringstrasse and a short walk from the Vienna State Opera and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, also has a lobby bar, café and full-service restaurant.
The property was built in 1863 as a private residence for Prince Philipp of Wurttemberg before being converted to the Hotel Imperial a decade later.
The hotel is one of a batch of historic Luxury Collection properties in Europe, including Venice’s Gritti Palace and Paris’s Prince de Galles, that have been upgraded in recent years.
