FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Hyatt Regency Pier 66 completed an $8.3 million enhancement plan, featuring a complete redesign of all guest rooms, expanded conference facilities and renovations on Spa LXVI.

The 380 redesigned guest rooms and suites all offer desks and seating areas, natural cherry wood furnishings and new soft goods in neutral tones. The bathrooms are decorated with Brazilian granite vanities, Spanish marble flooring and a separate private wash closet.

Amenities include duvet comforters, an in-room safe, a 25" color television, lighted makeup mirrors and three telephones with two separate lines for simultaneous phone and modem use. The Business Plan guest rooms, also new to the resort, are ideal for business travelers and offer in-room fax machines, printers and video playback units.

The most extensive expansions on conference facilities took place at the Crystal Ballroom, where meeting space has been increased by 33%.

The main foyer has been expanded to 3,500 square feet and features floor-to-ceiling glass with a view of the tropical gardens.

Also completely updated in a Mediterranean theme is the adjacent outdoor reception terrace, which is used as pre-function space and to host smaller social and business functions.

Refurbishments to Spa LXVI include the addition of new equipment and spa treatment products, which are now also available for sale, and enhancements to the dressing/locker areas, steam rooms and saunas.

New spa equipment includes a hydrotherapy bath, a therapeutic whirlpool, pedicure chairs and Cybex strength-training equipment.
