CHICAGO -- Hyatt Hotels Corp.launched a Best Rate Guarantee,
promising to match any hotel price found on a third-party travel
Web site.
Hyatt will then kick in an additional 20% discount, as well.
Hyatt said the extra 20% discount is the most generous of all
the other major chains with Web rate guarantees. Most of the other
hotel companies offer an additional 10% discount.
Under Hyatt's new policy, customers who find a third-party rate
that's lower than what's available on Hyatt.com can call (888)
96-HYATT to make their claim.
A Hyatt representative will verify the better price while on the
telephone and make the reservation at the better rate, less the 20%
discount.
In addition, guests who book on Hyatt.com by Feb. 29 will receive 1,000 Gold
Passport bonus points after each completed stay.
