ATLANTA -- InTown Suites, which bought Suburban Lodges of America
in a $230 million deal earlier this month, said it will begin
rebranding the first 20 of its newly acquired properties under its
name and the remaining 45 by year's end.
Shortly after acquiring the company, InTown spun off the two
franchise operations it obtained in the deal, including the
73-hotel Guesthouse International limited-service hotel franchise
organization.
"Our interest from the beginning was to acquire the real estate
rather than the franchise organizations," said David Vickers,
president of InTown Suites. "Our business model has been to own and
operate our hotels."
