The AC Hotels by Marriott brand is coming to the Americas, Marriott International said on Monday.
The upper-midscale, design-focused brand has 79 hotels in Spain, Portugal and France. Marriott said it can attract more young business travelers by bringing AC Hotels to the U.S.
"We have identified an industry void among consumers who are connected, communal and curious with an urban spirit," said Brian King, Marriott International’s global brand officer.
Marriott said there is “strong interest” in developing the brand in North and South America.
AC Hotels by Marriott was launched in 2011 as a joint venture between Marriott International and Spanish group AC Hotels, which was founded in 1998.
