The Maui Prince Hotel and Makena Resort intends to continue operations uninterrupted, according to an attorney for Wells Fargo, which foreclosed on the property Aug. 24.
"The threat of closing has disappeared," lawyer Barry Sullivan said in a press release.
On Sept. 8, a Maui court is expected to approve a plan to keep the property open during the transition to new management, according to Wells Fargo.
"We are confident there will be a smooth transition to the new resort management company," Sullivan said.
Last week, Wells Fargo said the hotel was scheduled to close on Sept. 16 but that it was trying to keep the hotel open.
