Zurich-based hotel chain Movenpick says it will go by the name Rui Xiang in China, where it has three hotels in development.
Rui Xiang means “brings you enjoyment and luck with Swiss quality,” according to the company, which also launched a website in Mandarin.
The name and website are part of the company’s efforts to build exposure in advance of its operations in China.
Movenpick will open the 300-room Movenpick Hotel Jiading in Shanghai and the 380-room Movenpick Resort & Spa, Phoenix Island in Sanya next year. A third hotel is slated for Inner Mongolia in 2015.
Movenpick operates more than 70 hotels worldwide.
