San Juan's La Concha Resort has joined Marriott International's Autograph Collection.
The move marks an extension of the 473-room resort's relationship with Marriott, following its previous 15-year stint as a Renaissance Hotels property.
The announcement also comes as La Concha Resort prepares to embark on a major $45 million renovation that will include a refresh of the property's 238 oceanfront suites and Beach Club and the addition of a spa.
Also coming as part of the revamp is Tekka Bar, a high-end sushi restaurant from Las Vegas restaurateur Takashi Segawa, and a second, yet-to-be-announced F&B concept that will be housed within the resort's seashell-shaped Perla event space.
La Concha Resort is part of The Condado Collection of hotels, which are owned and operated by Paulson Puerto Rico.
It is the first Puerto Rico property to join Marriott's Autograph Collection, which has a footprint of more than 270 independent hotels and resorts around the world.
