Resort name altered: It's Our Lucaya

NEW YORK -- The Lucayan Resort at Grand Bahama Island introduced its new name: Our Lucaya.

The 1,350-room resort on Grand Bahama Island, which opened 550 rooms in April 1999, will fully open on Dec. 1. Lighthouse Pointe, with 221 rooms and suites, and the 10-story Breakers Cay tower, with 579 rooms and suites, will join the 550-room and suite Reef Village.

When Our Lucaya opens it will have two 18-hole golf courses, the 13,000-square-foot Senses Spa, 14 restaurants, a children's center called Camp Lucaya, and the Village Market Promenade and the Port Lucaya Marketplace. A 30,000-square-foot casino will be launched late spring.

More more than $400 million has been pumped into the property, which is owned by Hong Kong-based Hutchinson Whampoa Limited.
