SLS Hotels & Residences has opened its first all-inclusive resort, the SLS Playa Mujeres in Mexico.
About 15 miles north of Cancun International Airport, the 498-room beachfront property sits within a gated community. The property offers a range of accommodation categories, including Captivate Swim Out rooms with private gardens, one- and two-bedroom suites and a three-bedroom Envy suite with outdoor terrace and sea views.
The resort has also debuted SLS Elite, an elevated room category that includes personalized check-in, butler service, a premium spirits package and other perks. Select SLS Elite accommodations feature two-level layouts with private rooftop hot tubs.
The property has 18 food and beverage offerings, including the first Mexican outposts of signature SLS dining concepts Fi'lia and Cleo. Other options include Caracol, which showcases locally sourced seafood, and Union, a New York-style steakhouse.
The resort is home to a 20,000-square-foot Ciel Spa, which offers 20 treatment rooms, thermal baths and an outdoor tranquility pool as well as two indoor gyms, an outdoor fitness area and a TRX training zone. Nike-sponsored trainer Julio Bustelo helms the property's fitness programming.
Other amenities include a kids club; five pools, including family-friendly areas with a splash park and an adults-only section; and nine meeting and event spaces, including a 10,000-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate up to 920 guests.
Rates at the SLS Playa Mujeres start at $699 per night.
The SLS brand is part of Accor's Ennismore lifestyle group. The SLS Playa Mujeres opening comes as Ennismore continues to ramp up its presence in the all-inclusive space, following the company's debut of an all-inclusive booking platform last year.
