Sandals Resorts unveiled four Millionaire Suites at Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa in St. Lucia over the weekend to 20 of its top-producing tour operators.
The bluff-side suites, which combine 800 square feet of living space and 400 feet of outdoor space with a private pool and whirlpool, are a key component of Sandals' $200 million top-category expansion plan that includes river suites, plantation suites and over-water suites at several of its properties, said CEO Adam Stewart.
The Millionaire Suites (so-called because the design and construction cost for each unit was at least $1 million) sit above La Toc's highest point, offering an unobstructed water view.
Architectural features include a three-level sundeck, a glass waterfall that spills into an infinity pool and whirlpool, mahogany furniture, Turkish floor tiles and a freestanding tub under a skylight.
Each suite is staffed by a personal butler.
Although Sandals originally had targeted seven Millionaire Suites for the La Toc property, it couldn't assure that each suite would have an unobstructed 180-degree view, according to Dwight Johnson, director of marketing for Unique Vacations, Sandals’ worldwide representative.
In the pipeline are eight over-water suites at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica, with construction slated to begin next year; refurbishment of all villa rooms at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios in Jamaica; a 240-unit complex of rooms and suites as well as 20 over-water bungalows at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, where swim-up river suites recently opened; and the January opening of the 162-suite Italian Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos.
