LEnfantPlazaDCStanford Hotels Group said Thursday that it acquired L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 3.

Stanford has closed the 41-year-old property for a $40 million renovation that is scheduled to be completed next year. Stanford said it plans to "restore the hotel to Four Diamond status."

The 372-room hotel will be renamed under a yet-to-be-determined brand.

Stanford owns and operates 13 U.S. hotels, including the Marriott San Diego Gaslamp Quarter and Hilton Waikiki Beach.
