Starwood opens Mexico City property

MEXICO CITY -- Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide opened the 457-room Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel & Convention Center here.

Owned by Inmobiliaria Interpres S.A. de C.V., the hotel is Starwood's 20th property in Mexico and its third in Mexico City.

According to Starwood, the hotel is the capital's largest meetings and events hotel with 53,000 square feet of event space with eight meetings rooms that can be divided into 14 smaller rooms.

All meetings rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and can accommodate a combined total of more than 6,000 people.

The hotel's business center includes five meetings rooms with audiovisual and teleconference equipment, secretarial services, copying services, Internet access and individual workstations.

Among the hotel's 457 rooms are a 3,229-square-foot Presidential Suite, plus a number of junior suites and master suites.

All rooms are wired and equipped for today's business traveler, including large work desks, two-line phones, dataports and flat-screen TVs with Internet capability.
