The Times Square Edition, a hotel that made headlines when it opened in Manhattan last year, will close permanently this summer.

A spokesperson from Marriott International confirmed that the property is expected to cease operating on or around Aug. 13, and that notice of the closure has been given to employees and government and union officials.

The 452-room luxury hotel is a collaboration between Marriott and hospitality veteran Ian Schrager, who jointly launched the Edition brand in 2007. Located within the 20 Times Square development on Seventh Avenue, the hotel is the brand’s second in the city, following the 2015 opening of the New York Edition in the city’s NoMad neighborhood.
