CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J. -- Departures begin in March for CIE Tours
International's first North America itinerary, Southern Charms.
The firm, which for 70 years has been operating programs to
Europe, now boasts a lineup of U.S. and Canada itineraries. The
program is being operated in conjunction with Mayflower Tours.
The eight-day itinerary begins and ends in Atlanta. Features
include a two-night oceanfront stay in Myrtle Beach, S.C., with
coastal tours of wildlife and wetland areas as well as three days
taking in Charleston, S.C., and Savannah, Ga. The land cost is from
$1,198 per person.
Activities include guided city tours and visits to South
Carolina's Boone Hall Plantation and the antebellum town of
Beaufort as well as to settings in Beaufort used when filming the
movie "Forrest Gump" and to settings in Savannah found in the book
"Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."
In addition to accommodations, the cost includes deluxe bus
transportation with a tour director and local guides; airport
transfers; six breakfasts and four dinners (including a dinner
cruise); sightseeing; entrance fees to specified attractions;
luggage handling and tipping, and a $40 bonus in future travel
credits.
Tour departures are scheduled for Fridays between March 17 and
Dec. 1.
