Prather joined the NTA in 1994 and became president in 2020. She has served on several boards and groups, including the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, Tourism Cares board of directors, Travel Unity's Association Working Group, Beyond Borders Tourism Coalition and Kentucky Horse Park Commission.

An overwhelming majority of NTA members -- 99% -- said in a survey that they are satisfied with the professionalism, knowledge and helpfulness of the NTA staff, while 96% reported being satisfied with their membership.

NTA board chair Monique van Dijk-Seppola called Prather "a remarkable leader," crediting her with the association's success.

"She navigated the association through the Covid pandemic, one of the most challenging and destabilizing periods in the travel industry's history, and today, NTA stands out as a genuine community of productive professionals -- united by a shared commitment to meaningful travel and a strong drive to expand the organization's global reach," van Dijk-Seppola said.
