Funjet Vacations has added technology through the VAX VacationAccess booking engine that allows agents to identify hotels with bonus opportunities, price-matching policies and agency-exclusive offers.
The Agent Value ID Tool offers a 2% bonus commission when agents book upgraded room categories. The bonus commission cannot be used to discount hotels, said Funjet.
“This technology is a type of hotel identification tool that took a great deal of time to develop,” said a Funjet spokesperson.
The company explained that the tool automatically shows up in the hotel availability screen in VAX. The idea is to make it easier to compare the earning potential each hotel provides. It also identifies whether the hotel offeres published or contracted rates.
“This not only helps the agent to maximize their earning potential, but it encourages them to up-sell and enhance their clients’ vacation experience, as well,” the Funjet spokesperson said. “This tool lets agents see every opportunity available to them and their clients before they make a booking.”
The tool, for example, identifies which hotels participate in Funjet’s Fun for Life bonus program, an agent rewards program that allows agents to earn rewards points redeemable for prizes, trips and merchandise.
Additionally, hotels can be identified as offering the More For Your $ Guarantee, a price-protection program.
