Gogo Vacations has instituted a revision service fee, the company announced on Monday.
A revision service fee is a fee applied to changes made to bookings and itineraries. Under the policy, there will be a single flat rate of $25 for making unlimited revisions on the same day the deposit has been made. Subsequent changes on additional days would also incur a separate $25 charge. If the revision
results in the trip cost increasing, then the fee is waived.
Revision service fees will be fully commissionable at travel agents' first tier commission rate, based on the three-tier commission structure Gogo rolled out on Jan. 1.
Travel agents will still be able to add their own service fee to Gogo bookings and have the service fee be processed as part of the booking.
The revision fees will not apply to any quote or booking that was made or held prior to July 13 or to any group booking made through the packaged travel provider's Go Groups division.
Gogo previously charged a revision service fee "eight or more years ago," according to a spokesperson, and is reintroducing it "to help all involved maximize their time by asking the right qualifying questions and streamlining the booking process," the company said in a statement. "This is rooted in making our team more available to service a broader range of travel agent needs, thereby increasing everyone's productivity. The end goal is to have the most productive, time efficient sales process."
