Lindblad Expeditions will bring guests to Egypt for the first time
in more than seven years with a tour combining land activities and a Nile river
cruise.
The 13-day "Passage Through Egypt" tour departs
Oct. 28 and Nov. 25, 2018; and Jan. 20 and March 17, 2019.
In Cairo, guests will stay at the Nile Ritz-Carlton as well
as the Mena House. The six-night cruise will be aboard the 42-passenger Oberoi
Philae.
Lindblad began selling Egypt in December 1992 and halted the
program in late January 2011, immediately following the January 2011 uprising.
"Things are very much on the upswing, and there is a
pervasive optimism there about the future," said Sven Lindblad, CEO of
Lindblad Expeditions.
The new itinerary features visits to the Egyptian Museum in
Cairo, the pyramids in Giza, as well as to ancient Egyptian sites along the
Nile. Internal flights will be provided by private aircraft and the groups will
be guided by Egyptologists. There will be a Lindblad-certified photo instructor
with the group.
Rates begin at $8,480 per person, based on double occupancy.
Guests have the option of adding on a five-day Jordan tour.
