TUI
Travel PLC has announced that Peter Rothwell, deputy chief
executive of TUI Travel, has decided to leave the company,
effective Dec. 31.
Rothwell stepped down
from the TUI Travel board on Dec. 21, when the announcement was
made.
According to an
official statement from TUI Travel, "Peter believes that having
helped Peter Long, chief executive, during the 100-day review, the
time is now appropriate for him to pursue other interests outside
of TUI Travel PLC."
Johan Lundgren,
managing director of TUI Northern Europe, has joined the TUI Travel
board as an executive director.
"Peter Rothwell has
been an integral part of TUI Tourism and drove enormous change
throughout the organization," Michael Frenzel, chairman of TUI
Travel PLC, said in a statement. "I am sure that he will make a
similar valuable contribution as he pursues his interests in the
future and would like to thank him for all he has done and wish him
every success outside TUI Travel."
No replacement has
been named for Rothwell.
