After a nearly decade-long hiatus, Pleasant Holidays is selling Asia packages for 2018, with an emphasis on Japan.

Reservations for FIT and group bookings for Asia product will open in December.

Pleasant Holidays operated the Japan & Orient Tours brand from 1997 to 2009 before exiting the region due to the recession. Pleasant Holidays said it is returning because the U.S. is one of the largest source markets to Japan with approximately 1.4 million U.S. travelers expected to go there in 2017.

The packager will offer a variety of Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott hotels, among other brands. The packages will include transpacific air and a range of activities, including sightseeing and rail tours.
