Coastal Passage _RMTRocky Mountaineer will launch its first train route with a departure and arrival in the U.S.

The Canadian rail tour operator’s Coastal Passage route, which starts May 10, will connect Seattle and Vancouver, en route to the Canadian Rockies.

The trains will depart from and arrive into Seattle’s King Street Station. It is the company’s fifth rail route.

Rocky Mountaineer tested the route with a few trips last summer.

“Guests gave us rave reviews on our inaugural Coastal Passage departures last August and experienced a journey they will never forget,” Hubert Wat, Rocky Mountaineer’s vice president of global marketing, said in a statement.

The Coastal Passage will have 24 departures on 12 Saturdays through October. Packages allow for stays in Seattle, Vancouver and Kamloops, as well as the resort towns of Lake Louise, Banff and Jasper, Alberta.

Alaska cruises departing from Seattle with Holland America Line or Norwegian Cruise Line are available in conjunction with Coastal Passage and can be added to any 2014 Rocky Mountaineer package.

The Coastal Passage route can also be added to Rocky Mountaineer rail tours into the Canadian Rockies.
