Travel advisors, do you have concerns? ASTA is ready to hear all about them.
The Society on Tuesday launched a new feature, the Report a Supplier Policy or Industry Practice Concern tool, designed to shed light on issues in the industry.
Members are invited to report anything that unfairly affects advisors, restricts competition or undermines their ability to serve clients, whether the issue stems from a single supplier, multiple suppliers or the broader industry. It is not designed for disputes involving specific bookings or transactions.
For example, ASTA pointed to concerns about direct-to-consumer marketing, pricing, commission policies and restrictions on access to content or information.
The new tool follows ASTA's launch of the Report a Hotel Commission Issue tool, which thus far has resulted in the return of more than $53,000 in commissions owed to advisors.
Issues submitted will help shape what ASTA does in the future, from supplier engagement to advocacy priorities. The tool, the Society said, will help it identify trends and form a coordinated response.
"When advisors speak up, ASTA can turn individual concerns into a stronger case for industrywide change," ASTA CEO Zane Kerby said in a release.
