ASTA is creating an online “news and current
affairs-style program” to highlight what travel agents do and how consumers
purchase travel.
“Travel Agents Taking Off” is being produced by ASTA in
partnership with ITN Productions and will debut at the ASTA Global Convention
this September.
The program will feature destination hot spots as well as
industry trends and technology. It will include news items, interviews with
industry leaders and journalists, and profiles of industry organizations and
regions.
ASTA said the program’s aim is to promote travel agents
to the public.
“We have consumer research out there that’s proven that
when you work with a travel agent your experience of travel is better, and we
want to shout that message from the rooftops,” CEO Zane Kerby said in a video
about the program.
“Travel Agents Taking Off” will premiere on Sept. 28 at
the conclusion of ASTA’s convention in Reno, Nev.
