NEW YORK -- There were no more SARS travel alerts or advisories
from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World
Health Organization for anywhere in the world as of July 15.
That's when the CDC lifted its SARS alert for Taiwan, which was
the CDC's last remaining alert.
In May, the State Dept. issued a public announcement, which will
expire Sept. 7, that reminded people that the CDC posted SARS
alerts for various countries and regions. But with the CDC alerts
now gone, the State Dept. public announcement seems a
formality.
