Allianz Global Assistance is now using Mastercard Send to
pay customers via debit cards nearly instantly after a claim has been
finalized.
The insurer said payments can be sent "within minutes"
of the finalization of a customer's claim.
Mastercard Send is a Mastercard service that enables
businesses to send money to consumers quickly and securely. Allianz customers
enter their debit card information as their preferred payment method when
filing a claim to utilize the service.
"Mastercard Send's technology allows travelers to
receive their funds anywhere in the world and use that money to pay for travel
expenses, purchase essentials while their luggage is delayed or even make a
deposit for their next trip," said Joe Mason, chief marketing officer of
Allianz Global Assistance USA.
Earlier this year, Allianz announced its ability to make
payments directly to their clients' bank accounts, which the insurer said
typically arrive in about two days. Around one-third of Allianz customers are
choosing the direct deposit payment option when they file an online claim.
