American Express Travel (No. 7 on Travel Weekly's 2023 Power List) has launched a vacation rental program, Select Homes + Retreats.
Select Homes + Retreats is currently in a pilot test and available to a small group of consumer and small business Platinum Card members.
The pilot program offers premium accommodations in a handful of markets with more to come: San Diego County's beach area; the Vail and Beaver Creek area in Colorado; Breckenridge, Colo.; the Florida Panhandle and the west coast of Florida; Maui; Park City, Utah; Cape Cod, Mass.; and Orlando.
American Express Travel is working with several vacation management companies for the program's supply, including Vacasa, Moving Mountains, Island Escapes, Bluewater, Casiola, Panhandle Getaways, Maui Paradise Properties and East West Hospitality Group. More partnerships are expected in the future.
A company spokesperson said interest in vacation rentals has grown among card members. Select Homes + Retreats is designed to complement the company's Fine Hotels + Resorts and Hotel Collection programs.
