Brownell (No. 35 on Travel Weekly's 2022 Power List) has promoted Kerry Dyer to chief development officer, a new position at the Birmingham, Ala.-based agency.

The new role is designed to expand Brownell's hosting and mentoring programs. Dyer will oversee marketing and talent development within the agency.

Dyer joined Brownell in 2017. She has started several new programs within the agency, brought on new advisors and coached them to increase their average annual sales to $1.5 million.

Before her hiring at Brownell, Dyer's 20-year career included jobs at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta as director of sales and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts as director of travel industry sales.

Dyer got her start in incentive travel, holding positions with Maritz Travel and BCD Travel.
