Commerce Department adds 27 tours

WASHINGTON -- The Commerce Department said 27 tour itineraries have been added to its American Pathways 2000 initiative, launched last year by First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton as part of an effort to celebrate the new millennium.

The program highlights various aspects of American culture. The program, supported by tour operators and endorsed by major travel trade associations, now encompasses 101 cultural heritage tours and will be extended for several more years.
