Defense vows swift agreements: Travel Weekly

WASHINGTON -- The Defense Department promised to direct its contracting officers to move quickly to renegotiate rebate-based contracts held by travel agents in the defense/military market and said it is reconsidering a decision to prohibit fee-based pricing in future contracts in its new, re-engineered travel system.

The department was responding to urgent requests from the Society of Travel Agents in Government following the latest air commission cut.
