NEW YORK -- Travel advisors will soon be able to earn 10%
commission on Memory Maker, the paid package enabling guests to download copies
of photos taken of them around the Walt Disney World Resort. The product was
previously noncommissionable.
Disney Destinations senior vice president of sales, services
and events Claire Bilby announced the news Thursday night during the Discover
the Magic Tour 2019 for travel advisors at the Edison Ballroom here. It was met
with cheers and applause from agents in attendance.
"Sometimes it takes a little time, but we do listen,"
Bilby said.
Bilby said Disney intends to make Memory Maker
commissionable in May. Agents can earn commission by including Memory Maker in
a package or selling it as a standalone product.
Memory Maker includes photos taken by Disney photographers
and at some attractions and dining locations. Purchased in advance, Memory
Maker is $169. The price when purchased at the parks is $199.
