MIAMI -- The Organization of American States and Continental
Airlines are jointly sponsoring a series of travel agent
educational seminars on Central and South America, hosted on
various dates during September, October and November by the
countries of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru and
Ecuador.
Tourism boards and private-sector members will join in the
sponsorship at their respective destinations.
Continental's director of product development for Mexico and
Latin America, Roberto Girotti, will conduct a one-day seminar in
each country, complete with a take-home manual and up-to-date
reference materials.
The following seminars, which come with a choice of optional
post-meeting tours and are limited to 30 participants, are now open
for registration:
Sept. 12 to 18 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Tours available to
Monteverde Cloud Forest/Poas Volcano/Sarchi oxcart factory; Tortuguero National Park, or
Guanacaste Nicoya Peninsula beaches.
Sept. 24 to Oct. l in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Post tours to
Salvador da Bahia or Iguassu Falls.Oct. 9 to 14 in Caracas, Venezuela. Post tours to Canaima/Angel
Falls fly-by; Isla Margarita/Los Roques, or Bocas del
Toro/Orinoco.Oct. 19 to 25 in Guatemala City. Post tours to Antigua,
Chichicastenango, Lake Atitlan and Tikal.Oct. 31 to Nov. 6 in Lima, Peru. Post tours to Cuzco/Machu Picchu; Ica/Nazca/Paracas and Isla Ballestras, or Puerto
Maldonado/Iquitos and the Amazon jungle.
Nov. 29 to Dec. 5 in Ecuador. Post tours to the Galapagos
Islands, the Amazon jungle, or Markets and the Highlands.Each program costs $350, including air fare, lodging, seminar,
city tour and meals as specified in the program; optional tours
will be offered at a discounted rate.
