GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- Elizabeth Milward, who retired last year as
vice president of sales for the International Airlines Travel Agent
Network, died on June 20 after a long battle with lung cancer.
"Elizabeth Milward was an advocate and friend of travel agents
and industry associates her entire life," said Denise Ladouceur,
IATAN's president and chief executive officer. "Her presence and
spirit will be sorely missed. Our sympathies are with her husband
Jim and her family."
Milward retired on March 31, 2002, after serving 16 years with
IATAN. She was widely considered to be an advocate for industry
professionalism for both travel agents and suppliers.
Previously, Milward spent 25 years with Pan American World
Airways, working her way up from passenger services representative
in London to director of travel agency sales at the airline's New
York headquarters.
Active in the industry, Milward participated in such
associations as New York Skal Club, ASTA, ARTA, and ICTA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the
National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR) or The David Center in
Rockville Center, NY.
