New York-based agency Embark Beyond has launched a program enabling clients to get in-room testing for Covid-19 before they return to the U.S. as well as guaranteed return via private medical transportation if they test positive.
The program comes as a response to the CDC's new mandate that travelers entering the U.S. provide proof of a negative Covid-19 case beginning Jan. 26.
Jack Ezon, founder and managing partner of the agency, said the cost of the program is $43 per person, per day. It lasts for a 15-day period, so for instance, if a client took a four-day trip, they could use the remaining 11 days for any future trips.
Those testing positive will be flown back to the U.S. by evacuation insurance company Covac. Additional family members will be permitted in the aircraft but could be limited based on space available due to medical or fuel requirements.
Coverage can be used starting 14 days after purchase.
