LAS VEGAS — Ensemble Travel Group has launched a specialist certification program, Ensemble Learning Journeys, which targets the $14 billion education market.

Ensemble unveiled the new program at its annual conference, held at the Red Rock Resort Casino.

Ensemble is offering the program in partnership with Learning Journeys, a division of Perillo Tours. It is designed to help agents work with any group that wants an educational journey. It could be a high school group, university students or alumni group.

But it is not a market limited to educational institutions, according to Suzanne Hall, Ensemble's senior director of marketing and development, land products. It could be families, a woman’s club or any group interested in learning more about a destination or culture.

Ensemble Learning Journeys includes a study program with eight to 11 modules and an annual symposium. Agents work with mentors who help them develop marketing materials and design itineraries.

“Travel agents are so busy,” Hall said, and breaking into a new market can be daunting because it takes a lot of time to ramp up. Hall said that this program is designed to help make it easier for agents to successfully break into a new market that is growing rapidly.
