Expedia Partner Solutions is offering U.S.-based travel agents an incentive to use the Expedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP). Instead of joining at the standard tier, new TAAP users will be able to join at the silver tier.

The promotion is also open to agents who haven't booked with Expedia TAAP in more than a year.

The Expedia TAAP has four tiers: standard, silver, gold and platinum. Agents are placed in one of the tiers based on their production, and commission levels increase as they move up. Levels have increased as part of the incentive. Commission at the standard level is up to 12%; silver, 13%; gold, 13.5%; and platinum, 14%.

According to Expedia, placing new agencies directly in the silver tier will help increase revenue. Advisors will also have access to package rates, which have an average of a 20% discount on accommodations booked with a transportation component.

"Cooperation is more important than ever to get our industry back on its feet after coronavirus, and it's vital that travel providers give their partners the tools they need to maximize revenue and instill confidence in booking travel," Alfonso Paredes, senior vice president of commercial partnerships at Expedia Partner Solutions, said in a statement.

The Expedia TAAP has 3 million agent-users in more than 30 countries.
