MILWAUKEE -- The Mark Travel Corp. instituted a system that enables
travel agents to have their commissions and refunds electronically
deposited directly into their bank accounts.
The service is free -- and optional -- and Mark Travel is one of
the few travel-package wholesalers that offers it.
A spokeswoman estimated that agents will have their payments
about a week earlier under the direct-deposit option compared with
the conventional payment process in which checks are mailed.
Under the new procedure, Mark Travel e-mails agents before
deposits are made to inform them.
