Protravel International has opened its first office in Texas, in Austin.

Protravel president Becky Powell said the office is part of the agency's larger strategy to expand into markets new to Protravel where there are a number of high-net-worth individuals who have a high propensity to travel.

The office, located at 8300 North Mopac Expressway in the North Austin section of the state capital, will be managed by Jodi Cole with assistance from Myste Wylde. The office has already attracted eight independent contractors (ICs), Powell said, who will use the office as an alternative workspace as well as a place to meet with suppliers.

"Austin's explosive growth in the last few years, especially its ranking as second-fastest-growing metro area last year, makes it very attractive for Protravel," Cody said in a statement.

Protravel has hosted several ICs in Texas but has not had a bricks-and-mortar presence there.

As a whole, the agency hosts around 900 ICs in the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in New York in a new office in midtown Manhattan it shares with parent company Travel Leaders Group, Protravel has 20 locations throughout the U.S. and the U.K.
