During the month, the property will cover the customary 14% hotel tax. Superior room rates start at $169 per night, double; deluxe rooms start at $189 per night.

For clients extending their stay to two or more nights, the second-night rate is $99. The second-night rate is valid only on Sunday or Monday nights.

Hostmark Hospitality Group debuted the first Amalfi Hotel property in the U.S. when the 215-room Amalfi Hotel Chicago opened on Jan. 26.

Guest rooms are equipped with pillow-top king or queen beds, fully stocked honor bars, in-room DVD/CD players, high-speed Internet access, in-room fax machines, aromatherapy candles, designer bath products and multihead showers.

In addition, the hotel also features two meetings rooms, lounges on each floor and Harry Caray's restaurant.

Overnight rates start at $179 per room, double, and include breakfast. The Amalfi Hotel Chicago is located at 20 W. Kinzie St. in Dearborn Plaza.

Toronto's Valhalla Inn created a Stopover rate of $75 per night, single or double, that pays 15% commission to travel agents.

The rate covers shuttle service to Pearson Airport, airport parking and weekday newspapers and in-room coffee/tea service. Children under age 18 stay free when sharing the same room as adults.

The rate and commission are valid on all reservations completed by Oct. 31.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, and lasting throughout the month, the Hotel Huntington Beach (Calif.) created a variety of romance packages.

The two-night Amore package features a bottle of wine and chocolate-covered strawberries, four cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, full breakfast each morning and one dinner for two in the hotel's Pasta's restaurant.

The one-night Be My Valentine plan includes the same amenities. The Amore package is priced at $250 per couple; the Be My Valentine plan is priced at $175.

The room portion of both plans is commissionable at 10%.

The Royal Garden Hotel in London created a three-night package coinciding with the 12th annual British Antique Dealers Association (BADA) Fair, to be held March 24 to 30.

The program covers three nights' accommodations in a twin or double room; one day's admission to the antiques fair; daily English breakfast; and VAT. Rates are $450 per person, double, and are guaranteed in U.S. dollars. Single supplements cost $300.
