NEW YORK -- Travel industry attorney Mark Pestronk and travel
agency broker Bob Sweeney will be conducting a daylong seminar for
agency owners and managers planning to acquire or sell an agency in
2000.
Sweeney is founder and owner of Roswell, Ga.-based Innovative
Travel Acquisitions, a broker of travel mergers and
acquisitions.
The seminar, The Nuts and Bolts of Travel Mergers and
Acquisitions, will cover 10 topics: the latest trends, preparing
your agency for sale or merger, evaluations, merger procedures,
sale terms and conditions, tax savings, due diligence, procedural
steps, ARC and Iatan approvals and the CRS "wild card," according
to Pestronk.
"The commission cuts have made many owners decide to sell or
merge," Pestronk said.
"This seminar is tailor-made to respond to their needs and
concerns."
The seminar will be held on Jan. 11 at the Atlanta Airport
Hilton & Towers. The seminar is priced at $295 for the first
attendee from each agency, and $150 for each additional attendee.
The cost includes lunch and materials.
