Signature agencies to get personalized sites for clients

Signature Travel Network plans to test a system that dynamically generates personalized websites for agencies' most valuable clients.

Karen Yeates, Signature's vice president of Internet business solutions, said Signature bought the domain name MyTravelSite.com for the project, which is expected to go into testing next spring and launch in the fall of 2009.

Once the technology is ready, Signature members would promote the personalized sites, sending client John Doe to www.mytravelsite.com/JohnDoe, for example. The personalization will be made possible by drawing from robust customer profiles in Signature's proprietary database, the organization said.

The sites will include destination and product information, custom-selected Signature offers and travel news. Clients will be able to post content about past trips, look at upcoming itineraries and list the trips they would like to take.

At its annual owners meeting in Chicago, Signature also announced technology enhancements, available now or in the near term. They include new e-marketing reports that enable members to see and compare the results of multiple e-marketing campaigns.
