ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Family reunions appear to be growing in
popularity, according to a survey conducted jointly by ASTA and
Vacation.com.
Canvassing some 400 travel agents, the survey found 66.9% said
they had booked travel accommodations for clients attending a
family reunion during the past year, while 64.5% reported requests
for booking family reunions have increased over the past five
years.
The survey found the most popular destinations/venues for family
reunions were, in order, cruises, the Caribbean, resorts, Florida
and all-inclusive resorts.

Agents said on average they booked nine family reunion trips a
year for groups of 10 to 25 people.
Some agents said they book family groups as large as 500
people.
Most family reunion trips (65.1%) last five days and are held
domestically (78.9%).
