The Professional Travel Agents of North America (PTANA) has joined CLIA as a Premier member, and has pledged that all PTANA members will also become CLIA members.

PTANA members will be able to access CLIA's certification and professional development program.

"It's all about the relationship, with our partners, our members, our clients and now with CLIA," said Lila Nicholas, PTANA's national chairwoman. "This unprecedented alliance will ensure PTANA agencies and agents are empowered with professional development tools and resources that are the gold standard for the cruise industry and will help PTANA members increase their cruise sales while creating more satisfied and loyal cruise clients."

CLIA offers two membership levels. Travel agency membership is $395 per year and includes one complimentary individual agent membership. Premier agency membership is $5,000 per year and enables all of the agency's agents to join as individual members at a reduced cost of $65. Both levels come with other benefits that are detailed on CLIA's website.

PTANA, founded in 2009, has about 150 travel agency and 600 travel agent members in its 10 nationwide chapters. Each of its chapters holds monthly seminars on selling techniques and product and destination information. The organization also provides its members with educational and networking opportunities.
