TripAdvisor company Viator has launched a new booking platform for travel agents, the Travel Agent Program (TAP).

Through TAP, agents can directly book more than 70,000 commissionable tours and attractions. Agents earn 8% commission on bookings made through TAP.

Host agencies, their agents and independent agents are eligible to register for the platform.

TAP allows for multiple currencies and gives agents monthly reporting to analyze their performance. Additionally, its resource center includes tips, training, product knowledge and destination guides.

According to Viator, thousands of agents have signed up for the platform since testing started in September, and the company has received positive feedback. There are no fees to join.

Ben Drew, head of growth for Viator, said in a statement this is the first time that agents have had direct access to the company's inventory.

"We'll collect and incorporate feedback from early adopters as we continue to evolve the program and, ultimately, help agents around the world grow their business," Drew said.
