ARC will host a series of 10 free webinars in September,
which it has named Fraud Awareness Month, to help agencies fight payment fraud.
The webinars begin on Sept. 5, with "Top Fraud Schemes
Affecting the Agency Community." They continue throughout the month on
Sept. 6, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26 and 27.
Topics range from fighting fraud to spotting fraudsters, and
will include tips and tools for agencies. ARC said participants will include
representatives from law enforcement agencies and the private sector (including
ARC).
"With the ubiquitous nature of online bookings,
alternative forms of payment and card-not-present transactions, the agency
channel is a prime target for sophisticated fraudsters. And that risk grows
annually as does the cost of managing it," said Cornelius Hattingh, ARC's
director of risk management and compliance. "The webinars we have set for
September will provide fresh insights on fraud prevention technology and best
practices to help agencies level the playing field between them and the
fraudsters."
